Artist's Biography

This Canadian artist is originally from Utopia (really, it is a small village outside of Barrie, Ontario) where she began creating.  She moved to Toronto and took her first Life Drawing class at an adult art school at age 12 and hasn’t stopped making images since then.

Ruth loves free form and textural work and endeavors to achieve this in both her hand worked and electronic pieces. She is influenced by the form and movement found in nature, with a sprinkling of the mystical in some of her creations.

Having worked as a Draftsperson and CAD operator for 20 years, she is now concentrating on her art full time.

Ruth currently lives in St.Catharines, Ontario with many friends nearby. She loves cooking, creating and practicing Taoist Tai Chi. She is currently selling  her work online and working toward presenting her work at several juried shows next year.
